Farm Fresh City

The farm is at your fingertips with Community Supported Agriculture.

Are you guilty of filling your fridge crisper with veggies and then ignoring them until they’re well-past their use-by date? Our Chef Shellie Kark, from KitchenCue, has teamed up with our friends at Whole Foods Market and the dedicated farmers from Grant Family Farms for a cooking demo series to inspire you to seek out the best produce for your table. And Chef Kark will show you how to prepare for now or later so that nothing goes to waste. You’ll learn how to participate in a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), explore cooking techniques that will utilize your produce box; Chef Kark will also talk about the staples that will make cooking with your farm fresh ingredients a joy. Registration for these special cooking events is encouraged.

Grant Family Farms wants to get you involved! They have generously donated a 2011 Season Single egg share and a free box of fruit and veggies to be delivered to a share pickup site this summer - a package valued at $250! Enter to be eligible to receive one of the shares; here’s how: ‘Like’ Fresh City Life on Facebook, ‘Follow’ freshcitylife on Twitter or come to any one of our Farm Fresh cooking demos and you could be a winner! Winner will be announced at the final summer cooking demo on Saturday, July 23.
