No singing frog, but three boisterous artists, one firebrand moderator, hors d'oeuvres and canapés, beer, wine and soft drinks. Do we really need the frog?
The first annual (and every event planner writes those words with a hopeful smile) eatART has something for everyone. We're going to discuss how art is surviving and thriving in Denver and in the new economy. Before we release our panel of artists to help us sort it all out, Whole Foods Market is providing a buffet fit for a New York gallery opening; while one of Fresh City Life's most loyal benefactors provides libations for everyone. eatART is the capstone event of another great year of producing cultural programming for Denver. And you are invited! Tuesday, October 11, 6:30p @ the Central Library.
Our panel of artists boasts three of Denver's most innovative and sought-after creatives: Lonnie Hanzon (of the Museum of Outdoor Arts), prolific and imaginative sculptor Marie EvB Gibbons, and multi-faceted artist and mastermind Jimmy Sellars. They've all got a lot to stay about the state of art in Denver; our moderator, Westword editor Patricia Calhoun will be on hand to shape the conversation. This free evening will be a great beginning for eatART to become a yearly forum that gathers artists and community together -- to focus a continued dialogue that shapes our local culture and arts.
That reads as pretty high-minded. Well, we will talk about important subjects, but Fresh City Life believes in the healthy mix of seriousness and frivolity. Hope you'll come to join the conversation, enjoy good food and drink, great company, and help me toast another joyful year of Fresh City Life programming.
