Authors, Authors, Everywhere!

If you want to meet an author this weekend, you have numerous opportunities!

On Saturday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ross-Cherry Creek Branch join Sara Avant Stover as she discusses The Way of the Happy Woman: Living the Best Year of Your Life. Ms. Stover knows that millions of women are trying to do it all, all the time, and end up feeling depleted and defeated. In this inspiring afternoon, you'll learn how to connect to your innate happiness through refreshingly simple practices and bring yourself back in sync with your own cycles and those of nature. Stover's suggestions nurture the body, invigorate the mind, and lift the spirit, yielding the same benefits as a getting-away-from-it-all retreat!

If you're more in the mood for fiction on Saturday, join us at 2:00 p.m. at Schlessman as Jenny Shank discusses her novel The Ringer. The Ringer is the story of Patricia Maestas, the wife of a Mexican immigrant killed by Denver police, and Ed O'Fallon, the officer who shot her husband, and what happens when their sons end up playing in the same competitive youth baseball league. Set in Denver, The Ringer is a finalist for the 2011 Reading the West Book Award.

Our Sunday, October 23 the Colorado Authors Series presentation is at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Robert Greer, author of the CJ Floyd mystery series, at Schlessman. He has lived in Denver for over 30 years, is a professor of pathology at the University of Colorado Health Science Center, and owns a cattle ranch in Wyoming. In addition to his novels, Dr. Greer has had short stories published in numerous anthologies, including Black Noir: Mystery, Crime, and Suspense Stories by African-American Authors and Higher Elevations: Stories from the West.

On Sunday, October 23 at the Aurora Central Library, the Aurora and Denver libraries have teamed up to present the 2011 Author Meet and Greet. Over 50 authors, covering every genre, and who write for adults, children, and teens, will be available to answer your questions and tell you about their books from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. See the complete author listing on the website, and join in the author fun!
