Join the Denver Police Museum as we celebrate the historic contribution of male and female African American police officers in Denver. The program will include brief remarks by Executive Director of Safety, Stephanie O'Malley and Denver Police Department District 6 Commander Antonio Lopez.

Exhibit: May 4 - May 30
The exhibit will also feature oral histories from retired officers, as well as uniforms, badges and other artifacts.

Zombie Dinner Theater (Ages 18+)

Ages 18+. Assist us at this after-hours event as we use NERF weapons to rid the library of evil book zombies lurking in the stacks. Then, stay for dinner! We’ll supply some NERF weapons, but if you have your own, please bring them! Ages 18+.

Doors Open Denver: Denver Classics Then and Now

The Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library is one of many participating sites in this year's Doors Open Denver tour. Stop by and explore all three levels of the library-each filled with a rich collection of artifacts, wonderful exhibits and our museum tells the story of the African American experience living in the historic Five Points neighborhood. Find out why this area was nicknamed "The Harlem of the West." While you are here don't forget to sign up for a library card!

Frida Kahlo’s Aguas Frescas Stand and Bodega del Botón

In celebration of Mexican culture and Cinco de Mayo, Fresh City Life hosts a stand just outside our west entrance. Come by to sample some traditional aguas frescas (which means fresh waters), light and refreshing beverages made from fruit juices, fresh fruit and other natural ingredients. We’ll also have all of our button makers on hand so that you can create a cool button or magnet commemorating the day. All free and open to the public.
