Food Lover's Book Club: Ice Cream!

There are few foods that speak more of summer than ice cream. It’s creamy, it’s cold, it’s special, and it evokes childlike excitement in most everyone. Sam Kopicko and Chia Basinger of Denver’s beloved Sweet Action Ice Cream will join 5280’s Food Editor Amanda M. Faison, to discuss the heavenly treat. Discussion will include tidbits about the genesis of the Broadway shop’s most popular flavors (salted butterscotch and Stranahans whiskey brickle), as well the history of the frozen dessert, what makes it so magical, and even the changing dietary landscape that necessitates vegan options.

Kids' Super Cool Book Club

What is it? Join this reading group for kids who are going into grades 3 - 5 that meets to discuss super cool books! Registration is required. You may stop by the reference desk or call (720) 865-0955 beginning on June 1 to reserve your space!
Pick up your first book at the reference desk (hopefully on the day you register). You may take home one book at a time. If you take a book, we’ll plan to see you at the discussion. Limited to 12 kids per session so don’t delay!
