There are few foods that speak more of summer than ice cream. It’s creamy, it’s cold, it’s special, and it evokes childlike excitement in most everyone. Sam Kopicko and Chia Basinger of Denver’s beloved Sweet Action Ice Cream will join 5280’s Food Editor Amanda M. Faison, to discuss the heavenly treat. Discussion will include tidbits about the genesis of the Broadway shop’s most popular flavors (salted butterscotch and Stranahans whiskey brickle), as well the history of the frozen dessert, what makes it so magical, and even the changing dietary landscape that necessitates vegan options.
