Come and join the R.A.D.A.* social book group in a discussion-based workshop on "Talking to Kids about Race".
R.A.D.A. is a social book group that reads for social consciousness, to exchange ideas and promote discussion through books and community sharing.
Last year we conducted a series of workshops on talking to kids about race, and this year we are continuing the second part of these workshops.
We would like to invite you to our next two discussions:
- R.A.D.A. Inspired Workshop: Talking to Kids about Race in Current Events and Children's Media. Saturday, February 22, 2-4 p.m. at the Sam Gary Branch Library.
We will look at ways current events and children's media create opportunities to have a discussion about the way race is portrayed to children.
- R.A.D.A. Inspired Workshop: Talking to Kids about Microaggressions. Saturday March 21st 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Park Hill Branch Library.
In this workshop we will explore how microaggressions affect children and caregivers.
