Weekend Fun with Fresh City Life My Branch

All these events are happening on Saturday, May 5:

Bird Watching 101, Part 1, at Ross-Broadway at 10 a.m. Please register, 720-865-0135 or fclmybranch@denverlibrary.org. Learn the basics of bird watching, how to ID birds, where to look for them, and how to use a field guide! Look for Bird Watching 101, Part 2 on May 12!

Flying with Amelia Earhart at 11 a.m. at Schlessman. 9 News' Earhart will speak about the importance of creating an adventure filled life. She'll show photos and video from her transcontinental flight in a single engine aircraft and talk about her next goal: to recreate Amelia Earhart's trans-Atlantic flight from the U.S. to Paris. She'll also discuss working in TV news, meteorology, and her connection to Amelia Earhart.

Make & Take Studio: Hand Sewn Sock Monkey, 2 p.m. at Ross-Cherry Creek. Make a colorful sock monkey! Bring a long pair of socks, any pattern or colors. Other supplies provided. Please register, 720-865-0120 or fclmybranch@denverlibrary.org

Want to learn more about knitting? Try our Make & Take Studio: Finishing School--Knitting with Sylvia at 2 p.m. at the Smiley Branch. Please register: 720-865-0260 or fclmybranch@denverlibrary.org. Learn how to put the finishing touches on your knitting project, and how to weave in those pesky ends! Bring tow finished knit squares (at least 4" x 4"), yarn, and a tapestry needle.

Make sure you're ready for Bike to Work Day next month with The ABCs of Bicycle Care with Peter Roper of the Denver Bicycle Cafe at 2 p.m. at the Bear Valley Branch. Learn the ABCs of bicycle care--Air--Brakes--Chain, how to clean and fix your bike, what tools and parts you should have, and about bicycle safety and the latest Colorado traffic laws applying to cyclists. BYOB--bring your own bike, and/or questions!
