Unwrap a Surprise Display at the Children's Library, May 17-24

Not sure what you want to read today? Looking for something new or different? Check out the UnWrap a Surprise display in the Children's Library this week!

The children's librarians have handpicked some of our favorite books and wrapped them in colorful paper so you can take home (and unwrap) a surprise book. Other than the label - "Picture Book," "Beginning Reader" or "Chapter Book" - the wrapping won't give you any other clue about the story inside.

So stop on by and pick out a book, it might just become your new favorite!

The Schlessman Family Branch did something like this for adults once and the theme was along the lines of a blind date. Check out a mystery library book - labeled only with genres - to see how you get along.

That sounds great! I've seen several displays with adult books, but I wanted to try one for kids. We've had some really excited kids, which is wonderful.

Barnum is doing this with DVDs and books for kids and families. It's been very popular!

DVDs! Cool! What kind of materials do you choose? I hadn't thought to include media.

Some of us will do a theme, "Family Fun! - 3 books and 2 DVDs to enjoy!" or just "5 books for kids" or "3 horror flicks."
