TechGirlz Solving Genetic Mysteries

Do you want to solve genetic mysteries using a global database of genetic information?

TechGirlz will host a free workshop at Denver Central Library for middle school girls to explore the technology of genetic research. TechGirlz inspires middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers. In this workshop students will learn about free online tools to examine genes and visualize a family tree! You will also learn how to search a set of medical symptoms to find the genetic cause, and search the human genome for genetic changes that can cause medical symptoms.

Denver Public Library also offers genealogy workshops for researchers of all ages. Find more resources for historical research in our Western History and Genealogy department.

Register online for this workshop.
