Girls Who DIY

Are you a girl age 12-18 that loves making and creating? Are you looking for something fun to do over winter break, want to learn a new skill or just hang out with other awesome young girls? Visit the SM Energy ideaLAB on Wednesday afternoons from 4-5:30 p.m. to join in on Girls Who DIY.

This program is hosted in the Central library’s ideaLAB makerspace, with the goal to encourage girls to make and to provide a safe and welcoming space for creativity and collaboration. This past month, we have created snowflake decorations, designed posters in Photoshop, customized stickers, and more! Every week is a chance to explore exciting activities related to crafting, building, and STEAM. Come hang out in December and the new year. Here’s what is coming up:

  • Wednesday, January 10 - Upcycled T-shirt Fringe Bags
  • Wednesday, January 17 - 2018 Vision Board Collages
  • Wednesday, January 24 - Sewing Make-up Brush Roll-up Bags
  • Wednesday, January 31 - Make your own Journal

Join us as we take on lots of creative ventures in Girls Who DIY! Registration is not required so stop by any Wednesday afternoon.
