Do you want to create a beautiful website for your blog or business, but don't have hours to spend learning coding skills? Luckily, now it's easier than ever to establish an online presence with so many website building platforms to choose from. However, with so many choices it can be confusing to know which one is right for you.
That's why the Denver Public Library is proud to offer for the first time Website Building Basics on May 16, 2018. In this class, you will get to explore three popular website building platforms: Weebly, Wix, and Wordpress, which all have free plans. You will also learn about key guiding questions to consider when designing your website in order to have a solid game plan for your site.
No coding experience needed, but basic internet skills highly encouraged.
Website Building Basics

Central Library Floor 4, Large Classroom, Community Technology Center
I would love to take this workshop, but I'm too far away to come up. would you be willing to share the "key guiding questions"? I need to redo my website which I sort of worked out some code to build beyond what a friend started for me, but it is very outdated now and I should probably start from scratch. www.GlassHorseRanch.com . I also would like to add a shopping cart if you have any suggestions about them
Hi Patti, I'm not teaching the class but let me check with my colleagues to see if they can share the questions and share ideas for shopping cart options. Is it okay if we send them to the email you listed on your website?
We're happy to share the "key guiding questions"!
Check out the course materials that will be posted on or before the Website Building Basics May 16th date by going to: denverlibrary.org/ctc-classes.
You can also check out some of the library's resources including Lynda Library by going to denverlibrary.org/lynda or doing a YouTube.com search for adding a shopping cart to your website.
When is the next 'Build a Website the Easy Way' going to be? I couldn't go to the one that was today (05/16/18) because I didn't feel well.
This class is taught every 3 months, so the next time will be in August (specific date/time to be determined). If you don't want to wait that long and want a decent overview, check out this video for a start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxXwyqKI7CA
