The SM Energy ideaLAB will be hosting our first Maker in Residence of 2018 - John Lake!
John will begin his Residency on February 20, and he will regularly be working in ideaLAB Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons through March. During that time he plans to take portraits of visitors to the library, host two Photoshop workshops, and work on an art book with a working title of DPL Portrait Project.
In his own words:
“I am a Denver based photographer, artist, and educator. I work with digital and film photography, as well as archival and found images. My artistic work often takes the form of photographs and books, but through experimentation and play, it finds new and different forms. I enjoy utilizing Do-It-Yourself techniques to create unique installations and representations of photographs. I want to share the ideas and tools of photography with others and also utilize the functions of photography to meet and bring people together.“
