March is National Nutrition Month

In honor of National Nutrition Month we will have Registered Dietitians visiting the Green Valley Ranch Branch on Monday, March 18 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the Central Library on Tuesday, March 26 and Wednesday, March 27 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

These nutrition experts will be on hand to talk about healthy eating and the USDA's new MyPlate dietary guidelines, along with any other food and diet questions you may have.

While you're at the Central Library take a moment to check out our Denver Now area on Level 3, dedicated to showing off our collection items relevant to current Denver happenings. Part of this area is now highlighting some of the nutrition related books in our collection, including cookbooks to help with planning, shopping, and preparing healthy meals and snacks. Take a peek at our Eating Healthy booklist for an online catalog list of those books and other suggested titles, too, or browse through our other booklists by topic for even more inspiration.

For more information, tips, and recipes visit the USDA's website and the website from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

What a handy list of titles! I also like your staff recommends page. I found a really helpful book by a reviewer named Stephen: Eat this, not that, supermarket survival guide : the no-diet weight loss solution by: David Zinczenko

Thanks for the great suggestion to search our staff recommendations! I did a quick search of "health" and also found Healthy Eating: All Kinds of Drinks by Susan Martineau recommended by Mary P. To see all of the staff recommendations just click on the Booklists by Topics above, then click on Book Reviews on the left side of the page.
