“I was born, and then I was quietly resentful of that fact for a few years...but then I went to a library and it was okay.” ― Helen Oyeyemi
November 2019 marks Denver Public Library’s 130th year serving the people of Denver. Books come and go, internet sites flash then fade and a library is nothing without the people who call it their own.
Over the years, we’ve taken a strong pride in designing programs and services for the unique neighborhoods and communities that each of our branch libraries serves. We’ve never strayed far from providing a focal point of literacy, learning, and culture, always based on a model of democratic public access, which everyone deserves.
We thank you for continuing to support us in the ways that you have. Without you, there is no us, which is why we’re celebrating YOU by marking your library card.
If you’ve been a member for 5 or more years, present your library card at any Denver Public Library branch and our staff will take care of the rest. Share a library story and get some bling for your card! We want to hear how you use your library card and what it’s done for you over the years.
