And I’m not talking about buying yourself that snazzy new gadget you’ve been eyeing (though that could be nice!). I’m talking about taking time out to practice some mindful self-care during this busy holiday season. This time of year is wonderful for a lot of reasons, but for many of us it can also be stressful. Taking time to slow down, reflect and care for ourselves isn’t always easy, but it may be one of the best gifts we can give ourselves, and others. Doing so can help us to cultivate a sense of joy and peace amidst all the hustle and bustle around us everyday.
Whether you like to de-stress by crafting, listening to music, exercising or something totally different, Denver Public Library is here to help with tons of fabulous free programs on heaps of topics. You can also check out library materials to help with stress management, mindfulness or relaxation. Many of our branches are hosting festive open houses, if parties are your thing.
Here are just a few especially calming events happening this month, and you can see the rest online here. Hope to see you there, and here’s wishing you a happy and healthy December.
