Shakespeare in the Park(ing Lot)

Shakespeare is in the Air, and later this week he will also be in the Virginia Village Library Parking Lot! In honor of the Bard's birthday a 6 actor troupe from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts will perform a 45 minute rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream. BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) to the Saturday, April 22 performance starting at 2 p.m.

In preparation, as Cole Porter famously wrote "Brush up your Shakespeare, start quoting him now!" While many of the Bard's plays are popular according to Priceonomics A Midsummer Night's Dream is the most performed of his plays (in North America, Austrailia and the UK).  It is certainly one of my favorites! So brush up on your A Midsummer Night's Dream with the movie version starring Michelle Pfeiffer as Titania and Rupert Everett as Oberon!

Or of course another American favorite is Romeo and Juliet, Baz Luhrmann's bold rendition holds a spot in my heart! Arguably though the Franco Zefferelli version is the most classic. Learn more about these popular plays and others in Shakespeare Uncovered.

See you in the parking lot!

what to do? Shakespeare in the Parking Lot or Mingus at the Central Library??
Everyone, be sure to check out the Hogarth Shakespeare series. I read Hag-Seed and then watched the Christoper Plummer Tempest and the Helen Mirren Tempest. Great stuff!!
