I was reading an article this week about the behavioral economics of gift-giving. Basically what it boils down to is this: if you add up what gifts cost, and then you quantify their perceived value to the recipient we lose about 13-40% of the cost. So you have to ask yourself is it really worth it to get yourself all worked up and drive yourself into debt to spread a little holiday cheer?
Here's a few books and materials to help get you started on your DIY holiday journey. Not to mention this year you can join Denver Public Library's Woodbury branch in crafting a little holiday joy. Using cast off materials and inexpensive supplies to create charming winter-holiday-Christmas crafts, the goal is to create something nifty for $0.99 or less!
