The American Library Association (ALA) has announced the 2017 Listen List titles, notable for outstanding audiobook narration. The 2017 committee listened to 1,919 hours of audiobooks, evaluated over 200 titles, debated 45 nominations, and narrowed the field to the final twelve winners. One unique aspect of the Listen List is that each recognized title is accompanied by three "listen-alikes" which hopefully encourage listeners to go beyond the initial list.
Two titles in particular stand out as also having won the 2017 Andrew Carnegie Awards for Fiction and Nonfiction - The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, narrated by Bahni Turpin and Evicted: Poverty and Profits in the American City by Matthew Desmond, narrated by Dion Graham. The full list of titles and listen-alikes is available at 2017 Listen List Winners Revealed.
