Oscar Wilde's Pink Lemonade Stand
Fresh City Life will be celebrating Denver PrideFest this Saturday with a lemonade stand and button making station on Acoma Plaza. This will be our second annual stint hosting a refreshment stand in the name of one of the greatest GLBT authors in history -- Oscar Wilde. During a promotional tour in 1882, Oscar actually came to Denver and lectured at the opera house here and in Leadville. He stayed as the guest of Horace Tabor and was well-received by most of Denver's citizens. On Saturday, we'll remember the spirit of Oscar Wilde, one of the grandfathers of the gay rights movement, with a pink lemonade toast. Come by and see us!

Fresh City Life highlights our GLBT community at this year’s PrideFest. When you need a break from all the pageantry in the park, come by to cool down and have some fun. We’ll be serving up festival realness at our lemonade stand in the Acoma Plaza. Sample some cooling beverages from our friends at Whole Foods Market and make a free button or fridge magnet commemorating an important figure or quotable quote from GLBT history.
The video is a recording of actor Rupert Everett reading a portion of Wilde's De Profundis at Wilde's grave in Paris, France in 2011.
