Madame Defarge Toasts Irish Crochet In a New Workshop

Fresh City Life debuts a brand new fibers workshop tonight: Drunken Irish Lace. Riffing on the traditional methods of connecting crochet motifs into a larger piece, our teachers are bringing crochet to the edge of modernity.

Drunken Irish Lace
Mondays, June 9, 16, 23 & 30, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Central Library, Level 1 Fresh City Lounge

In this four-night workshop, you’ll learn simple and intermediate motif crocheting and follow that up by exploring the art of joining motifs together to make shawls, tablecloths, décor items. It’s a heady mix of art and craft and once you have the basics down, you’ll be drunk with creative power! Ann Myhre and Janny Potter teach this course; they’re both expert crocheters and will guide you to success. No beginning students please (students should be comfortable with ch, single, half-double and double crochet stitches). Materials fee of $20 due on the first night of the workshop. Registration is required. Please register online or call 720-865-1206.

Those are beautiful. I've always been a knitter but I'm becoming more and more taken by these really interested and intricate crochet patterns and ideas.

Thanks, Frank, the motifs being created by the students are fantastic! Drop by some Monday to check it out!
