Game Time

Have you ever wondered if (or hoped you could) borrow video games from the Denver Public Library?

Well, you can! In this blog, I will be showing you step by step how to order video games through the Denver Public Library.

I've made a video with commentary in order to help you in your pursuit of happiness. Also, I uploaded a fun video.

P.S. You can also order video games through prospector, the steps are the same as if you're ordering a game through Inter Library Loan. The only difference is the layout of the website and how you enter your information for requesting the item.

Here's my quick search tip: For Inter Library loan and Prospector

  1.  search item: call of duty (for example).
  2.  look for were it say's computer file on screen.
  3.  look for item that you want and request. done

If you need more help check out my video

(The information on the card and card number in the video were created for the sole purpose of this video; if you try using this card, it will not work because it has been deleted.)

***Disclaimer: Borrowers are not guaranteed that a library will loan the requested item(s). Also, please remember that you are only allowed 30 requests per year from Interlibrary Loan (including WorldCat and purchase suggestions). All requests are counted regardless of the outcome.

Tecmo Bowl put blisters on my thumbs! It was way better than John Elway Quarter Back (Another game). But I played them both. Is there a category for "The Stupidest Game Ever"? ET is an example. After about a minute of playing you think"This game is stupid".

There are videos like that and I wanted to upload some but, they had a lot of cussing in them. E.T was such a bad game that it is known fact that about 1 million unsold copies of it, are buried out in the desert.

Does the library rent game consoles or do you know of any place that does?

We do not rent consoles but, I do know that if you go to rent a center or Aaron's you can buy a game console without paying the full price upfront and instead make monthly low payments (probably 20-60$ a month). But if you go this route they also charge a little bit of interest especially depending on how fast you pay it off so it will be more in the long term if you buy it this way.

LOL - for real? buried in the desert?? That's funny.

Yea no joke and it was considered so bad, that many blame it for the sole reason of the video game crash in 1983... Which is really funny
