Sometimes we’re reading a great book and really want to share. Sometimes we have no idea what to read next. Sometimes we just want to get out of the house and visit with people who share our interests in books. The nice thing about book clubs, especially here at the Denver Public Library, is that there is something for everyone. Have you tried the Book Clubs at the library?
Many of the groups read a wide variety of titles during the year but some are focused on a topic – try the Bear Valley Mystery Book Club or Central’s Adult Sci-Fi and Fantasy Book Club. Maybe you just want to share? Park Hill has a No Strings Attached Book Club where you can chat about a current book you’ve read (or even a movie or television show). You can find the schedules and titles on the DPL website.
But you say you don’t have time to meet up –then join our Online Book Clubs. Every day you’ll get a selection from the book of the week so before you know it, you’ve started a book. Try thrillers, romance or maybe business is more your liking.
Still curious? There are groups that meet quarterly such as the R.A.D.A. (Read. Awareness. Dialogue. Action) and pop-up book clubs that you can find on the Events page or through Engage. Ask your branch librarian for more information and Happy Reading!
