Big Read

Lighthouse Writers Workshop, in partnership with Denver Arts & Venues and the Denver Public Library, invites you to #ReadWithUs this fall! As part of the NEA  BIG READ, there will be citywide discussions and programs based on In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, a novel about family, finding your voice and fighting injustice.

The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts that aims to broaden our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. It also exposes people to new genres and ideas and challenges their current tastes in literature.

Get a free book in English or Spanish while supplies last at these Denver locations or one of four DPL locations: Central, Valdez-Perry, Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales and Montbello

Books and audio available for checkout at the Denver Public Library.

We are also excited to announce that all during October there are unlimited eBook downloads available through the Libby app and unlimited eAudio downloads available through RBDigital. Unfortunately, the Spanish eBook and eAudio are currently unavailable.

Read the book and attend a book club:
