Oprah loves book clubs and so does Denver Public Library, with meetups throughout the city! Our latest addition is Club Kubaba. Inspired by a Mesopotamian tavern keeper and ruler (left), Club Kubaba meets every first Sunday (upcoming dates). No required reading - instead, it is about sharing what you’re reading, watching or listening to, and maybe discovering a world history connection each month. Recent discussions included a tour of the Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative and these favorite reads:
A History of the World in 6 Glasses by Tom Standage
Cities: the First 6,000 Years by Monica L. Smith
Who We Are and How We Got Here: Ancient DNA and the New Science of the Human Past by David Reich Geneticists
Cræft: an Inquiry into the Origins and True Meaning of Traditional Crafts by Alexander Langlands
So join Oprah’s book club and let's talk about what you’re reading in Club Kubaba!
