After the Flood is the first selection of the Libraries Transform Book Pick digital reading program, which offers access to the same book at the same time through public libraries. Post-apocalyptic at first blush, this title takes place about a century from now, our world utterly transformed by a 100 year flood leaving little more than mountaintops for dry land. Myra and her young daughter are living on the water, searching for her older daughter, until coming in contact with another group of survivors who may have a common goal. Storms, pirates, and a near-mutiny nearly destroy their plans, but they continue to push ahead. This is an intriguing and innovative woman-centered swashbuckling quest narrative which centers on the social impact of climate change.

The Libraries Transform Book Pick is brought to you by the American Library Association and OverDrive. For additional information about the program and ebook and additional resources like a discussion guide or title read-alikes, please visit ilovelibraries.org/libraries-transform-book-pick.
