Every Little Detail Plays A Part

Today, Trish and I -- and a couple helpers -- put together our Fresh City Life booth for the Denver County Fair. We had a great time, a lot of laughs and built something that will make fair-goers smile.

And the process, since we really only had a general idea of how it would come together, reminded me of the Stephen Sondheim classic, Putting It Together:

Bit by bit, putting it together
Piece by piece, only way to make a work of art
Every moment makes a contribution
Every little detail plays a part
Having just a vision's no solution
Everything depends on execution
Putting it together (That's what counts)

It is all finished and ready for inspection now. We tested out our carnival game and it work perfectly. When the fair opens for real tomorrow, we'll be there to entertain and add some fun -- even for ourselves! I'll take some photos, just in case you can't make it out. If you can, here's details on getting there, what you'll see -- and putting it together:

All events are free with fair admission, except where noted. Events and times subject to change.

I LOVE that you and the Fresh City Life team are DPL's face at the fair! You all do such a great job connecting the larger community to DPL and vice-versa. Yes - many of us in the 'regular library' notice and appreciate all you do.....and how much work it takes to do those things!
