Learn gardening skills at home with the ideaLAB and a master gardener! In this online session you will learn how to build your own tabletop greenhouse and hydroponic herb garden as well as tips and tricks for creating successful and sustainable gardens.
During the first half of the workshop, we will walk through building your own tabletop greenhouse complete with a DIY self-watering herb garden. You can use the supplies provided in an ideaLAB Take & Make kit or your own supplies from home. To get an ideaLAB Take & Make Kit: stop by Hadley, Hampden, Montbello, Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales, or Sam Gary Branches and request a kit starting May 1. Supplies are limited, first come first served.
For the second half of the workshop, you will be able to ask all your gardening questions to a local master gardener! Master gardeners are trained in the art and science of gardening, so they are a great resource for getting started gardening or leveling up your gardening skills. All ages and skill levels are welcome to attend!
To follow along with the project you will need:
- A small handful of herb seeds (cilantro or basil)
- Balsa wood, dowels, or other wood material (4 of each length: 6”, 10”, and 12”)
- Wood glue
