Review
This is a vivid historical mystery set in the Hudson Bay Company's Canada in 1867. The heart of the story revolves around a murdered trapper, a missing boy and a worried mother. The author brings to life memorable characters -- hearty settlers, tender misfits, solitary trappers and traders. She describes the harshness of winter so that the reader can almost feel it. A great read for historical fiction fans as well as mystery fans.
