This fascinating documentary traces the hopeful rise and ultimate demise of the Priutt-Igoe Apartments, an ambitious experiment in modernist public housing in post-WWII St. Louis.  Razed less than 30 years after they were built, Priutt-Igoe became an infamous worst case scenario of what happens when government conceives of and builds a project without a funding plan for ongoing maintenance. Interviews with former residents and urban historians paint a vivid picture of this tragic place.
