Review

Set in Argentina during the Dirty War of the 1970s, a family is torn apart by their outcast Jewish ancestry, generational differences and a volatile political environment. Facing the most desperate of circumstances, each character is forced to face their darkest thoughts as they respond to the atrocities amongst them. Englander has skillfully written his debut novel with heartbreaking beauty and power.
