Review

Sloane Crosley fulfills the promise of her first book, I Was Told There'd be Cake, with a deeper, but equally funny second book of humorous essays. While the moments of loud guffaws are still present, they are interspersed with deeper notes of human emotion. There is one part that almost made me cry and several sections that I felt were lifted directly from my brain. Her first book had me wanting to meet her, this one makes me want to hug her.
