Review

Our book group chose this book expecting it to be about the books that a grown son and his mother read as the mother underwent chemotherapy for her terminal cancer. We expected this to be The End of Your Life BOOK CLUB. Instead, it's THE END OF YOUR LIFE Book Club. The focus is not so much on the books as on the conversations and reminiscences that evolved from short passages or themes from the books. In hindsight, since the son was the author, of course that's the tack we should have expected this book would take. Nonetheless, the reading list is quite impressive (the chapter headings cover the highlights and there's a comprehensive list at the end.) Our group will probably read one or two of the books their list.
