Review
This book was sooo fascinating. Benes was a collector, a hoarder, a true packrat. He took these overlooked treasures and elevates them into art. In the style of Joseph Cornell, each item has its place among the confines of shadowboxes and display cases. Benes collected a lot of these things on his own but people began to hear about his strange collections and some went to great lengths to send him strange popcultural ephemera. A bird that died flying into Elizabeth Taylor's window, Bill Clinton's partially sucked throat lozenge, Larry Hagmans gallstone. Weird, beautiful, touching. if youre curious at all Curiosa will pay off!
