This is possibly one of the most intense and powerful movies I have seen in a while. It was adapted from Ntozake Shange's acclaimed choreopoem "For colored girls who have considered suicide, when the rainbow is enuf". Following the lives of 5 women, it explores the ideas of love, hate, infidelity, rape, abortion, unfulfilled dreams, anger, murder and abuse in the their lives. And it ultimately explores what it truly means to be a strong and powerful woman. Just warning you....you might cry.
