Bossypants, the audiobook, is humorous autobiography by Tina Fey, famous for her work on television shows Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. Narrated by the author, the audiobook is slightly different than the print version, as Fey references the audiobook format.

Bossypants has one leg in the comedy genre and the other in the autobiography genre, but Fey doesn't straddle the fence well. Fey uses some chapters to tell about herself working up through a highly-competitive workforce of male comedians; some chapters are lists of jokes. Although Fey offers thoughtful perspective on bureaucracy, sexism in the workplace, parenthood with a demanding career, and what it means to be the boss ("In most cases being a good boss means hiring talented people and then getting out of their way"), Fey doesn't make clear what the audiobook is intended to accomplish. Like her work with Saturday Night Live, maybe it's most-basically suppose to make us laugh.

Bossypants is crass at times but quirky and indeed funny.
