I've written about the Appalachian Trail here before, and this new book, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the AT, is a wonderful addition to the literature about the world's longest footpath. Filled with beautiful photographs and history, this book details the trail from dream to reality, the various people and organizations who have helped create and maintain it, famous hikers, and of course the beauty of the trail itself. If you can't get to the trail itself, this is the next best thing.
