Wenzel covers a wide breath of sculpture with concise descriptions, plenty of pictures and a thorough glossary in this fun introduction to the world of sculpture. She includes works from antiquity and others from the present; they come from all over the world and are made out of everything from marble to canvas to aluminum. The historic and artistic context provided helps kids understand the meaning and significance of each piece. For an even greater understanding, kids can look at recommended books and websites or follow tips to create their own related art and writing pieces. This book is one in a series of introductory art texts that make art come alive for children.
