Ross-Cherry Creek Parking FAQs

Why is a paid parking program being implemented at the Ross-Cherry Creek Branch Library?

In order to equalize the availability of parking and limit parking time, Library parking will follow the same parking rules that exist in the rest of Cherry Creek North.

When will I need to begin paying at parking kiosks to park in the Library parking lot?

Parking kiosks will be operational for the Library’s parking lot on November 1, 2004.

Why didn’t the Library’s paid parking begin at the same time as the rest of the paid parking in Cherry Creek North?

We wanted to carefully evaluate use patterns after the Cherry Creek North parking plan went into effect. We did not want to charge our customers for parking unless we believed it was absolutely necessary to maintain a reasonable level of access to parking.

Is the Library charging for parking at Ross-Cherry Creek Branch Library because of its budget?

No. The revenue from parking kiosks goes to the City and County of Denver's general fund, not directly to the Library.

What will the hours be for paid parking?

The Library’s hours for paid parking will mirror the hours for paid on-street parking, which are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Sundays are free.

How much will parking cost? What are the time limits?

As in the rest of Cherry Creek North, Library parking will be available for $1 an hour, with a 15-minute minimum and a three-hour maximum. Once you have paid for parking, you can move your car from one on-street or Library space to another on-street or Library space within the 16 blocks comprising Cherry Creek North. You simply need to leave the kiosk receipt on the dash of your car for the paid time period.

Will handicap parking still be available?

Yes. There will continue to be two free handicap parking spaces available for Library customers in the Library parking lot. Concurrent with metered parking throughout Denver, vehicles displaying a current handicap license plate tag or hang tag do not need to pay for parking in designated handicap spaces; however, individuals do need to comply with the three-hour limit.

Will parking in the lot be limited to Library customers only?

No. Because of the ability to park throughout Cherry Creek North on one payment, we cannot limit parking in our lot to Library customers only.
