Denver Plein Air Arts Festival Exhibit 2011
Plein air painting is often associated with landscape painters and dramatic vistas, but the Denver Plein Air Arts Festival takes it to the streets of downtown Denver during the months of August and September, when artists come out of their studios to paint, photograph or produce other visual media in the Golden Triangle neighborhood and other notable Downtown areas.
The works selected for exhibition are a diverse mix of styles and mediums. With the works done on site in Denver, the exhibition provides a unifying sense of place and subject. Depictions of recognizable monuments hang next to intimate glimpses into hidden alleys, porches and buildings. This is a must-see event for collectors and connoisseurs of Colorado artists.
