A Cast On of Thousands: All the Ways to Cast On and Bind Off- registration opens
Ever panic when you see a pattern begin with "Using a provisional cast on..." — or one that ends with "bind off loosely in rib" and wonder why they are asking for such specific instructions? Then after struggling to teach yourself a new cast on or bind off, you just give up and do it the one way you know for certain? This workshop will shed some light on when to use which cast on for certain projects and will explore the difference between aesthetic cast ons and functional ones. Plus, we'll make some great little one-hour projects to practice these techniques! You'll walk away with a coffee cozy made with a tubular cast on and a bind off specifically for ribbed patterns; a knitted cuff done with the picot cast on and picot bind off and begging to be adorned with knitted flowers and vintage buttons; and a chain bracelet made with the channel island cast on and k1, p1, bind off. We will also be demonstrating a few other ways to start and finish. By the end of the workshop, you'll feel much more confident to tackle all the different ways to start your projects! Materials fee of $20, all yarns provided. Registration is required. Please register online http://denverlibrary.org/fresh#cast or call 720-865-1206.
