IMPAC Award Short List Announced

The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award honors novels with high literary merit written all over the world in any language. The short list for the 2009 award has just been released! The winner will be announced on June 15, 2011.

Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann
Little Bird of Heaven by Joyce Carol Oates
Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey

Love and Summer by William Trevor
After the Fire, a Still, Small Voice by Evie Wyld

For the 2009 award, The Denver Public Library nominated The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver, The Help by Kathryn Stockett and The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet by Reif Larsen, and were among 166 library systems from 45 countries from around the world who participated.

This year, for the 2010 award, we are nominating Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, The Room by Emma Donoghue and The Postmistress by Sarah Blake.
