How to Buy a New Computer

Buying a new computer can be overwhelming, but a little research can go a long way.

The first step is to think about what you will be using your computer for. If you will only be surfing the internet and checking your email, a very basic machine will probably suit your needs, but if you are going to be doing a lot of gaming or video editing, you may need something more powerful.

THINGS TO CONSIDER:

Performance

  • Hard drive capacity for storage
  • RAM for speed
  • CPU/Processor for multi tasking

Types of computers

  • Mac or PC?
  • Desktop, Laptop, Netbook, or Tablet?

Cost

  • Most personal computers cost between $300-$2000.
