To honor the memory of Juanita Gray, a former Denver Public Library staff member and dedicated community advocate, the Library presents an annual award to an outstanding individual in our community. This event has become the kick-off celebration of African-American Awareness Month at the Denver Public Library.
We encourage you to nominate someone you believe deserves this award. We are equally interested in youth, ages 14-18, who are setting an example for all in our community.
2013 was a tremendous year of growth, renewal and revitalization for Denver Public Library. In November 2012, Denver voters overwhelmingly passed Ballot Measure 2A, which helped restore essential services throughout the city. With that measure, we were able to increase our hours by 40 percent, bringing more of our services directly to the people of Denver.
The Denver Public Library values free and equal access to information and library resources, including library computers. By requiring a Denver Public Library Card for computer access, the library equalizes computer access for all customers.
