DPL Websites Unavailable Thursday Morning

The Denver Public Library will be performing maintenance on our web servers beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, February 2 and the outage should last about a half hour. During this time, access to all Denver Public Library websites will be unavailable.

Blood Drive at DPL: February 1

Bonfils Blood Center

The Denver Public Library has partnered with ING and Bonfils Blood Center to host a blood drive on the first Wednesday of each month.

Next Blood Drive:
Wednesday, February 1, 2012, 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Community Invited to Suggest Names for New Branch in Stapleton

New Branch Library at StapletonThe Denver Public Library welcomes suggestions from the community to name the new branch library at Stapleton, scheduled to open in mid-2012. The Library will consider all ideas for the new branch name including names of individuals, groups, geographic location or other entities.

Temporary Closure of the Children’s Library

The Children's Library at the Central Library closed on Monday, November 28 for the installation of new carpeting, as part of the City’s Capital Improvement Projects. The project will be completed ahead of schedule and will now reopen at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 5.

Beginning November 16 through early 2012, new carpet will be installed in Level 1: Burnham-Hoyt room, Children’s Library, and Level 4: Community Technology Center.

DPL Holiday Closure

All Denver Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2012 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause.

You can still use many of the Library's resources even when the buildings are closed:

Temporary Holds Suspension Now in Effect

Placing of holds will not be available from Monday, December 20, 2010 through mid-February, 2011.

This includes:

  • DPL's Catalog
  • Prospector
  • Interlibrary Loan (WorldCat and Request It)
  • Purchase requests

We apologize for this disruption of service while we transfer all our data to a new integrated library system.

Existing holds will continue to be filled as they become available.
