This art form has an illustrious history. There are Chinese examples of collage technique dating to 200 A.D. In 10th century Japan it became a staple in the work of calligraphers. And Medieval European artists used it to great effect. The word 'collage' was attached to the technique during the period in which artists such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and other modernists utilized it extensively. For our workshop, Emma Ginsberg, artist and collage/mixed media expert, will demonstrate all the right moves for collage success.

Dive into a cooling bowl of ice cream that you made yourself; Chef Shellie shares unique tips for making simple custard-based and non-custard ice creams. Then when she's combined all the ingredients, we'll take turns cranking out delicious batches of ice cream. This demo wraps up with a sampling of the ice creams you just helped to make! Learn about pickling's sophisticated family members: relish, chutney and ketchup. Chef Amy, from The Seasoned Chef, shares savvy tips for turning a garden's bounty into delicious accompaniments to any menu. Chutneys can be marinades or cooking sauces for meats, relishes can be the base of vinaigrettes and ketchups can be made from fruits like raspberries and grapes.
