Faison will untangle the mysteries of one of the world’s healthiest diets. Bonus: Since olive oil is one of the cornerstones of Greek cookery, Faison has selected Tom Mueller’s book Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil to pair with the program. Pick up the book beforehand and prepare for a book club-style discussion.

Simple but powerful! Sumi-e painting is Japanese ink brush painting that conveys Japanese respect for nature, simplicity, and purity. Join our instructor from the Arvada Center to learn the basics of this ancient technique of ink painting by using ink and rice paper to create your own Sumi-e painting. All art supplies are provided. Class size is limited to 20 people, so come early to ensure your spot!

Ten Thousand Villages - Fair Trade Rugs

In May, over 300 hand-knotted rugs designed and created by fairly paid adults in Pakistan will be brought to Denver for the 4th annual Ten Thousand Villages oriental rug event. Join us as we learn about how the artisans create their own patterns to produce these masterpieces of fabric knotted into intricate designs and how making these rugs has a positive impact on the artisans lives.
