Mobiles & Knitting--Sign Up Today!

There are still a few spots left in our upcoming Fresh City Life My Branch Mobiles for Fun and Learn to Knit classes! What are you waiting for--sign up today!

In Mobiles for Fun, you'll create a piece of moving sculpture from found materials. The parts will move in various directions setting up rhythms of motion or reverse motion. Materials could include: metal, plastic, wood, paper, found objects, and wire. If you have wire cutters and/or needle nose pliers, bring them along, but we'll have tools for you to use. Bring any objects that you want to incorporate into your mobile, too! Presented by artist Karole Sharpe. 2 dates to choose from: Sunday, June 19 at 2:00 p.m.

Web Development Class Series

Interested in learning how to build your own website?  Come to our series of 4 classes to learn the basics of website development using Wordpress.com.

Classes run from 5:45 - 7:45 p.m. on Level 4 in the Large Classroom at the Central Library on the following days:

Monday, June 6; Monday, June 13; Monday, June 20; Monday, June 27.

Each class in this series will build on the skills covered in the previous classes so attendance at all four is strongly recommended.  Over the course of the 4 classes, we will cover:

In this class, you'll learn the basics of acrylic canvas painting with step-by-step artist led instruction. No prior painting experience is necessary to create this blowing tree masterpiece. All supplies and instructions included!

 Yo-yo quilting is a humble craft -- developed by creative Depression-era homemakers to use up bits of fabric for practical objects -- usually quilts and coverlets. (The top photo is a good example of this kind of quilting.) The product is homey, sensible and, in the right hands, can have a wonderful sense of design and movement.

Expanded Intro to HTML - Go a bit beyond the basics of HTML and discover a few more uses for this web development tool. PREREQS: Either attend Intro to HTML and CSS OR have some basic experience using HTML.

The first hour of this course will allow participants the chance to learn basic skills in resume writing, reviewing and revising for today's job search regardless of industry and professional level.

The second hour will be an open forum used to address various questions regarding today's job market, so come prepared with your most important question. Topics for questions may include resume writing, interview skills, applications, personal marketing, job hunting resources, networking, etc. We will also take some time to review resumes.
