Free community workshop by Learning Ally. Your YES! Ambassadors have secrets to help you stay motivated, positive and refocused for the 2nd half of the school year. This information is TOP SECRET, but since you are YES! members, you have special clearance! We will also be sharing some anti-bullying and self-defense tips from a world champion black belt. Students can then head off for some fun with their Ambassador leader to enjoy the Denver Art Museum, Colorado History Museum or ideaLAB.

Basically, it's your ability to understand who you are, what you need, and how to educate the people around you about the things that help make you successful in school and life. Discover the power of self-advocacy and how you can help your students learn about and grow this very important skill.

We will help you search for work on the internet, create or modify your resumé, learn a language, study for the GED or any other test, do homework, practice computer skills, and/or research health topics. Children may do homework, play with our toys, use the children's computers, or read.

Life happens and sometimes it involves the L-word. Where do you begin? Fahren Devine, Represented Litigant Coordinator with Denver County Court's Civil Self Help Center, will introduce resources available to those who help themselves.
Some of the topics will include:

  • Finding and filling out forms
  • Information on court procedures
  • Rules and terminology
  • Assistance locating Colorado statutes
