This is a one-time basic course for the beginner, repeated each month. (NO CLASSES IN July and August. Classes resume in September). Attendees will be introduced to thinking genealogically through the exploration of the following:

W5 - Be a Detective
Beginning Internet Sources
Six Major Record Groups

Attendees should dress comfortably. Consider bringing a seat cushion, bottled water, and a sack lunch (there will be a 30 minute lunch break).

This weekend marks the 152nd anniversary of the beginning of the U.S. Civil War. Riverside Cemetery, the oldest operating cemetery in Denver, is home to more than 1,200 Civil War veterans, including three Medal of Honor recipients, soldiers that fought with the "Colored Troops," and even some Confederates. Hear some of their stories, presented by the Fairmount Heritage Foundation.
