Cousins Gallery - Level 3

An exhibit honoring and remembering the legacy of "Daddy" Bruce Randolph, community advocate and restauranteur. November 23rd marks the 50th Anniversary of the Thanksgiving food giveaway that Daddy Bruce started, helping feed over 10,000 families in need. The first 25 years of this tradition Daddy Bruce cooked meals on Thanksgiving day donating his time and money. The Denver Feed a Family program of the Epworth Foundation continues the work of Daddy Bruce giving away Thanksgiving baskets every year.

Western Art Gallery - Level 5

Local photographer Roger Whitacre began shooting images of Denver in the 1970's. This exhibit contains images of buildings that either vanished from the landscape during the final decades of the twentieth century or, as in the case of Union Station, altered their appearance. Whitacre's black and white images document a vanished Denver.

Ethiopia Reads Presents
A Celebration of Landscape, Culture and Art

Four artists-- 2 Ethiopian and 2 American-- traveled together to depict the beauty of the Ethiopian countryside through paint and photography. Their work will be on display at the Blair-Caldwell African American Research library, along with art by local Denver artists with Ethiopian ties, during the month of October.

Cousins Gallery - Level 3

The Art of Now is a community art show that explores the relationship between who we were as we began our journey as artists and who we have become. Artists will show one piece of art from their early career and one piece completed in the last two years. Artists include: Alistair Bane, Joel Cook, Patricio Cordova, Ron Hicks, Rochelle Johnson, Helen Littlejohn, Irving Watts, and Rob Yancey.

Western History/Genealogy - Level 5

The Denver Public Library is proud to present the exhibit "Norihito's Kiri-e" in partnership with Denver's sister city of Takayama.

Kiri-e is the Japanese tradition of detailed artwork made of paper cutting into often intricate designs. Norihito Yoshimoto's work captures the beauty of Hida-Takayama and the gentle spirit of Japan.
