As part of the citywide Light/The Holocaust and Humanity Project, the Mizel Museum and Fresh City Life will host a collection of events to bring our communities together in a spirit of unity and celebration of diversity.
Holocaust Remembrance Art Exhibit
The Challenge School students have created a series of artworks in honor of Holocaust Remembrance. These beautiful and touching pieces will be displayed in our Schlessman Hall to coincide with Light/The Holocaust and Humanity Project.

We are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with The Denver Center Theatre Company with an exhibit on the August Wilson 10-play canon and its historical significance to Colorado and director, Israel Hicks. Written in 1985, Wilson’s Fences premiered at DCTC in 1990 and will kick off the 2012-13 season. Artistic Director Kent Thompson’s production will be mounted under the stage direction of Lou Bellamy, OBIE Award-winning director, accomplished actor, and scholar who has worked directly with Wilson. Western Art Gallery - Level 5

The exhibition, will illustrate the history of the contributions of the Loretto Community through photographs, art, and memorabilia. The focus will be on five areas of their history and accomplishments: Beginnings in Kentucky and Santa Fe; The Schools; Global Loretto; Social Entrepreneurship: Peace and Justice; and Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Lives. Vida Ellison Gallery - Level 7

The exhibition, featuring murals from Denver Public Library’s Western History Collection, will illustrate how Colorado’s murals and muralists tell the state’s history in a vibrant and compelling way. The murals displayed in Walls that Speak span the City Beautiful movement, the development of the Broadmoor Art Academy and subsequent Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the Works Progress Administration era, the Chicano movement, and contemporary muralists.

The Cousins Gallery hosts the exhibit 'Echoes of A Middle Passage' featuring collage artist Leonard Scott. In a time where digital media is taking over, Leonard Scott creates intricate, hand pieced collages that serve as a mirror and stunning reflection of black history and culture.
